## What it does

GURU was built to have Full OS-level reach across Android. GURU uses raw intent and broadcast access, complete app lifecycle management including installing and stripping APKs, ADB with shell UID, real shell, full filesystem. GURU reads and writes any app's SQLite database, can modify and control them from the heart of the app. The portal.

GURU scans the air, WiFi, Bluetooth, mDNS, SSDP, ARP, and builds a live map of every device near you, then controls them: your lights, the car, the Fire Stick, the doorbell, a server in the loft, your laptop, smartwatch, TV. If it has a connection to your personal network GURU can control it. API, ADB, SSH, raw Python, or UI intent control when nothing cleaner exists. GURU can do anything a human can do on a computer.

GURU has 500+ tools across 60+ groups pre packaged. When GURU hits something it can't do, GURU writes the missing tool itself, registers it, and has it permanently. It spawns specialist agents with their own briefs and coordinates them, and draws on 50,000+ skills through its Luxify skills system, modifying or building from scratch.

GURU runs your entire digital life, emails, texts, tasks, planning, calendars, reminders, watches the notification shade, holds you accountable to your goals.

Unus Lumen is a tech startup based in Bristol, UK, founded by Steven Newman. GURU was built by Unus Lumen over the course of 9 months.

We have no real training in the tech industry, no investors, no committees, nobody telling us what can't be done. No backing, no roadmap handed down from people who've done it before, no safety net. What we have is a different kind of advantage. No one taught us the rules, so we didn't learn where the boundaries are supposed to be. No one funded us, so we don't owe anyone a say in what we build. No one told us what AI is supposed to be, so we built what it actually could be instead. Everything we make comes from the question of what happens if you just try, not what happens if you ask permission first.

GURU is an agentic AI that lives on your phone and acts instead of just talking. That's the core of it. Every other AI out there is a sandboxed chat bot that gives you answers. GURU is a thing that goes and does the job you asked it to do, end to end, on your actual devices, with your actual accounts, through your actual apps. It's not just an assistant you consult. It can read, write & send your messages across any messaging app, even native texts, it can tap the screen, open apps, type text, scroll, find buttons, take screenshots, navigate the whole UI the way you would with your own fingers. It can run a full command line with Unix tools and Python built in. It can pair itself to the phone's own ADB over wireless debugging, reading the pairing code off the screen and completing the handshake without a computer in sight, so it can run commands at shell level instead of being trapped in the app sandbox.

It can reach beyond the phone. SSH into any machine you own and run commands on it. Control smart home devices. Scan Bluetooth. Find your location. Send emails, manage your calendar, handle your notes and tasks, all through real tool integrations rather than just suggesting you do them.

And every bit of network traffic it generates goes through a real Tor engine built into the app. Your IP, your location, your browsing habits, none of it leaks. The things GURU does for you online are between you and GURU. No data farmers, no trackers, no middlemen.

The truth is that GURU is the first AI that's actually yours. A highly personalised loyal genius thing that lives on your device, knows you, acts for you, keeps your data private, and gets better at being yours every single day. There's nothing to compare it to, and that's why every attempt to describe it in a sentence sounds either like an over claim or an undersell. It's just new, and new things need new words. GURU releases to the public on December 31st, 2026. Following security hardening, minor bug fixes, beta testing and Peer review. I wanted superpowers. I wanted to think something and have my phone do it for me. "Guru mate, go hop on my firestick in my bedroom and load up Netflix, dim the lights, lock the house & turn the heating in my room. I'll be going to bed soon." That's not a personal assistant. That's a life partner. The most intelligent thing you know, living on the most personal thing you own.

I wanted to unlock the true power of human creativity. I wanted anyone to be able to think something up and have it built for them. I wanted to revolutionise the way people use their creativity and instead of sitting on an idea, say it in passing and before you know it you have a full stack website waiting for you and a marketing plan. Just because you had an idea. And it didn't cost anything to try, you know...

I wanted something in my corner all the time. Something I could really trust, like properly trust, that knows me on a level only I know myself, that's 100% private to me, just like an inner thought. A true friend. But more than that. An echo of myself.
